In April 2022, Asus ROG let the world know of their official partnership with SRO Motorsports America. ROG equipment is already utilized by pro-racers in racing simulations to help them prepare, so partnering with SRO Motorsports is the natural choice. ROG’s innovative technology from gaming monitors to mice were developed with the specific needs of top gamers in mind. The senior manager of brand marketing at ASUS North America, Deb Lee stated, “As the new official partner of SRO Motorsports America, we’re excited to provide the latest ROG gear to aspiring sim racers and contribute to the growth of the racing sim community!”
What is SRO Motorsports?
SRO Motorsports is an international sports car racing organization that was founded in 1995. They have been organizing the world’s top GT racing events for the past thirty years such as the Intercontinental GT Challenge, 24 Hours of Spa and GT World Challenge Europe. SRO is also obviously very involved in e-sports which allows them to push the limits of creativity and inspire innovation on the racetrack, both real and virtual. They organized the MobileEye GT World Challenge America Esports Championship in partnership with MobileEye, an Intel company which started last month.
How is ROG involved with E-sports
By partnering with Asus ROG, SRO will be able to offer the most advanced simulation racing possible. According to Asus’s website, they state they will be using the ROG Strix XG43UQ, a 43-inch 4K HDMI 2.1 display, and the GA35 gaming desktops to create an incredibly immersive experience for racers. ROG will also be involved in future SRO sim racing events, solidifying their reputation as the best of the best.
During the pandemic, sim racing truly took off as traditional racetracks could not fill their seats with an in-person audience, causing profits to dive. Marketing and advertising are the main source of revenue for racing organizations and how they are able to maintain equipment and pay racers. But with efforts diverted into e-racing, and forming partnerships with innovative companies like Asus ROG, sim racing is enjoying massive success. The popularity of esports is growing exponentially, more people each year are becoming interested in this multimillion dollar industry, especially younger generations.
