This laptop also boasts a QHD 2560 x 1440-pixel resolution display, making one of the few laptops to feature this setup. These specs allow for lighting fast frame rates and a refresh rate of 165Hz, so you can run any game beautifully, with no issue. This is a big step up from the previous model, the G14, which had a refresh rate of 120Hz. This improvement is a clear indicator of Asus’s commitment to quality and advancement. No corners were cut here, even with the audio system which tends to be an afterthought in most laptops. The G15’s six speakers provide professional level sound and it's three microphones guarantee crisp voice recording.
Cooling
A main hurdle for gaming laptops versus desktop is the cooling system. In laptops, heatsinks must be small, and generally there just isn’t enough space to expel heat quickly enough. This is exacerbated by the fact that laptops must be quiet as well. With the Zephyrus G15, Asus set out to solve this conundrum with a new, intelligent cooling system. This system includes state-of-the-art, 84 blade, ‘Arc Flow’ fans, along with six heat pipes. This cooling system combined with liquid metal-based thermal paste keeps you in the game with impressively low sound levels.
Battery
The battery is arguably one of the most important features of a laptop and has to be stellar in order to compete with desktop gaming devices. It's massive 90Wh battery can charge fully in just about one hour. The G15 can last for a full day’s worth of work without needing to be charged which is very impressive for a laptop of this size and weight.
Overall
To conclude, it will be a while before any laptop can compare to the Zephyrus G15 as far as portability, game quality, and battery life. The starting price, just $1850, is incredibly reasonable for such a high performance machine.
