Repair your Asus laptop keyboard top caseDo not stress about replacing the top chassis of the keyboard, you can fix this on your own, quickly and easily, without having to hire a professional to do it for you.
As a safety measure, and before manipulating or replacing the parts on your Asus computer, don't forget to turn off your notebook, unplug it from any power source, and remove the battery before you start.
- Get a Phillips screwdriver and a small flat screwdriver
- Close your pc and put it face down on a table
- Using the Phillips screwdriver, remove all the screws on the bottom of your pc
- Turn your computer around and get the flat screwdriver
- Slide it into the gap between the keyboard and the bottom of the computer, starting from the top of the upper case and detach it gently going around
- Then, gently lift the faulty top case: it is connected to the rest of the computer by FFC's that must be disconnected
- These FFC's are held by white connectors, unclip them so that the FFC's go with the top case at the time of its withdrawal
- Replace your keyboard case with the new one, reconnect the cables and reassemble the computer by following the steps in reverse
